As the newest president of the Brokenhead Trail Blazers I’d like to welcome you to a very different 2020-2021 riding season. I’d also like to give a huge thank you to all the local advertisers and businesses who continue to support our club. Their support helps carry our club forward every year and we hope you will take the time to check out the products and services they offer. It’s more important than ever this year that we support our hard-working local businesses.
As I said, this year will be very different. We may not have warm up shacks, local restaurants, cookie-fueled club meetings or our favorite hangout spots. What we do still have is 230 kilometers of beautiful trails for everyone to get out of the house and enjoy. Snowmobiling is one of those sports where you can stay safe, maintain social distancing yet still have an absolute blast. We expect many more people to give the sport a try this year and extend a warm welcome to them as well as our many returning riders.
Nobody likes to ruin the party, but I’d like to take the time to remind everyone to please respect all current health orders and public health advice. I know it may be frustrating to some, with shacks closed, and gatherings restricted. Remember to plan ahead with the understanding that there may not be places to warm up or have a bite to eat. Never ride alone and make sure you share your plans with friends and family. Most importantly, please don’t drink and ride.
If you’d like to join the club to help us out or have your voice heard in the snowmobile community please check us out on Facebook, or our website brokenheadtrailblazers.ca. We also have a few extra trail cameras this year you can view at snocams.ca. Hopefully we beat this pandemic before our season is over and can enjoy a few hangouts, cookouts, cookies, and get-togethers that help take our sport to the next level. Be kind to each other and let’s have a great season!
